Andrómeda Mejia
Actress, stage director and playwright

Born in Toluca, State of Mexico. Graduated from the Escuela Nacional de Arte Teatral in 2015 with a degree in acting.

Beneficiary of the Stage Creators Programme FONCA 2019 -2020. Beneficiary of the Young Creators Programme PECDA 2017 -2018.

Author and director of the play Ropa Sucia, awarded for Best Play at the 25th FITU-UNAM.

Guest director at DRAMAFEST -UNAM 2018. In 2017 she did a Residence in Stage Direction in Atlántida, Uruguay and in 2019 she was in a Residence in Living Arts with Emilio García Wehbi.

As an actress she has participated in more than fifteen professional productions, with directors such as Alicia Martínez Álvarez, Sixto Castro Santillán, Gilberto Guerrero, Aleyda Gallardo, Anabel Domínguez, Víctor Carpinteiro, among others; highlighting her participation in the festival EMERGENTES 2017 in Seville, Spain.

She is a founding member of the Punto de Ebullición Collective, with whom she is carrying out the project for the professionalization of theatre for people with intellectual disabilities, in collaboration with En -co Mariposa Blanca, through the CDMX Community Cultural Collectives program.

Her text La soledad de los desiertos, was selected for the 18th Festival de la Joven Dramaturgia.

She graduated from the Universidad Iberoamericana, with a degree in psychology with an honorary mention for academic excellence.
