About

We are a Mexican dissident performing Arts Company whose creative crossroads are the intervention of non-conventional spaces, interdisciplinary and the generation of experiences.

We seek to enter into the perversity of our humanness without prejudice. We pursue creative, aesthetic and freedom speech. We talk of human darkness, decadence, misery, fragmentation, violence, cruelty and their opposites.

We look for dialogue and collaboration with other creators.

We worked with the improvisation, with the intuitive body, with the performatic playfulness and forms that are of our interest. We looked for the pleasure of the discovery.

La Corte de los Milagros uses this name in a metaphorical sense because of the search for the understanding of the unpleasant and the poetic of the human. This has led our projects to focus on themes and texts that address the dark sides of the human existence.

The company was created in 2011 and based in Mexico City. We have been working for more than 10 years without interruption, carrying out continuous research in the performing arts and interdisciplinary work in non-conventional spaces.

The projects have evolved to generate expanded dramaturgies with the collaboration of the invited artists, so a personality of our proposals has been raised. Our goal is not to stop researching, not to stop asking questions, not to stop creating in spite of the circumstances.

In 2020, forced by the world's evolution, we are expanding into the virtual universe. This is how we carried out two virtual investigations into the scope of the scene in this medium: the first approach was La Violence (2020, Brussels-Mexico), written by Verónica Villicaña and Augusto Pedraza; the second was White Room (2020, CDMX-Mexico), a collective creation of four women in isolation, whose process became more performative and visual.

Our previous work includes The Other (2019, Brussels, Belgium), an original idea by Augusto Pedraza. Parió la Leona, an immersion work in the life of El Goyo Cárdenas (2018-2019, CDMX) based on a text by the journalist Ricardo Ham and directed by Rocío Belmont with 4 seasons. La falsa suicida (2016-2017) by Angélica Lidell under the direction of Sixto Castro Santillán with 3 seasons. Indicio de Olvido (2015) and El Territorio de las Pérdidas (2014-2015) written and directed by Augusto Pedraza; Caricias (2014) by Sergi Belbel under the direction of Rocío Belmont; and Los Gatos (2012) by Jesús González Dávila under the direction of Víctor Carpinteiro.

We have managed to make co-productions with Erasmushogeschool Brussel (2019) and Escena México Conteporánea, A. C. (2018) Our works have been part of the Festival of Performing Arts of the State of Mexico (2019), the Second Invasion of Morbid Spaces (2018) in Mexico City and the Programme of System of Theatres of the Ministry of Culture of CDMX (2017).
